How to Launch a Deploy/Personalization on Convert?
Deploying a personalization on Convert allows you to target specific audience segments with tailored content, enhancing user experience and boosting conversion rates. This guide outlines the steps to successfully launch a Deploy experience.
Step 1: Set Up Your Project
-
Login to Convert: Begin by logging into your Convert account. Ensure that you have access to the project where you want to launch the Deploy.
-
Create a New Experience: Navigate to the “Experiences” section of your project and click on “Create New Experience.”
-
Choose Experience Type: Select “Deploy” from the list of experience types. Name your Deploy experience and provide a brief description.
Step 2: Define Your Targeting
In this step, you will define both your audience targeting and content targeting to ensure that the right content is shown to the right users.
-
Audience Targeting:
- Location: Target users based on their geographic location, such as country, region, or city.
- Device Type: Specify whether the Deploy should appear on desktop, mobile, or tablet devices.
- Behavioral Attributes: Segment your audience based on their behavior, such as new vs. returning visitors, referral sources, or time spent on the site.
- Custom Segments: Create custom audience segments using data from your CRM or other integrated tools. You can combine multiple criteria to refine your targeting.
For further information on defining audiences, you can refer to this guide.
-
Content Targeting:
- Select Pages and Configure Locations: Choose the specific pages or groups of pages where the Deploy will be applied. You can target specific URLs or use URL patterns to group similar pages. Additionally, you will need to configure the attached Location or choose from an existing one to define where the Deploy will be applied on the page. Locations help in specifying the exact area on the page where the changes will occur. For more details on configuring Locations, refer to this article.
Step 3: Design Deploy
- Design the Deploy:
- Visual Editor: Use Convert’s Visual Editor to make changes directly on the page. Modify text, images, buttons, or any other elements without writing code.
- Custom JavaScript: For more complex Deploys, add custom JavaScript to modify the page content dynamically.
- Use Preview Links: Use the preview links provided by Convert to check how your draft will appear to different audience segments. Ensure that the content displays correctly across various devices and browsers.
Note on Goals:
- Deploy Limitations: Goals cannot be directly added within Convert for a Deploy experience. However, you can still track the effectiveness of your Deploy using analytics integrations such as GA4 (Google Analytics 4) or other third-party tools. This allows you to measure user interactions and conversions associated with your Deploy.
Step 4: QA and Launch
-
Quality Assurance (QA): Before launching, conduct thorough QA testing. Verify that the Deploy works as intended across all targeted segments and devices. For more detailed guidance on QA testing, refer to this QA Guide.
-
Activate the Deploy: Once testing is complete, activate the Deploy by toggling the status from “Draft” to “Active.”
Conclusion
Launching a Deploy experience on Convert is a powerful way to deliver tailored content to your audience. By carefully setting up your audience targeting, designing the Deploy, and leveraging external analytics tools for tracking, you can significantly enhance your site's user experience and conversion rates
