Define Audiences for your Experience
🚀 THIS ARTICLE WILL HELP YOU:
🔹 What is an Audience?
An "Audience" is a group of visitors that you want to be included in your experience, being an experiment or personalization.
📌 Audience Dialog Sections
You can create an audience for your experiment by going to your Experience Summary and locating the Audience section. From within the Audience section, you can add a previously saved audience or create a new audience.
Clicking on the Add Audience dropdown will give you the following options: 1) Templates or 2) Advanced
Audiences listed in the Audience Dialog section can now be joined using either OR or AND expressions. Previously, only OR logic was supported.
Templates Section
The Templates section allows you to choose from pre-built audiences. This will help you speed up the configuration of your experiment audiences.
Advanced Section
This section is where you can create your own advanced audiences if none of the templates fit your requirements. More documentation is available here.
AND Expression for Combining Conditions
You now have the option to combine audience conditions using AND expressions in addition to the default OR logic. For example:
- Previously: You could only target users from Google OR Yahoo.
- Now: You can target users from Google AND Yahoo.
To use this feature, ensure your project is using the new tracking script. When the legacy script is in use, this functionality will not be available, and audience logic will default back to OR strictly.
Default Audience
You can now define an audience to be the default audience. In case you forget to set an audience for an experiment, the default audience will automatically be assigned to your new experiment. To set a default audience after you have created one, go to the Audience page, select the 3 dots (ellipsis) button, and select Pin as Default option.
