If you need to move a Convert project from one account to another, please contact Convert Support with the details listed below. This helps our team verify the source and destination accounts, prepare the transfer, and reduce back-and-forth during the migration.

Migration process

The project transfer process has several steps. Please review them before confirming the transfer.

1. Confirm the change freeze

Before we begin, you must confirm that no further changes will be made to the project after an agreed time.

This includes changes to experiments, variations, audiences, goals, project settings, tracking code settings, or other project configuration items. This freeze is needed so the project can be transferred safely and consistently.

2. Project transfer

After the change freeze is confirmed, Convert will move the project to the destination account.

Once the project is moved, we will provide a new tracking code for the project in the destination account. At this stage, the project configuration and data will be available in the new account, except for historical report numbers.

3. Update the tracking code

You will need to replace the old tracking code on your website with the new tracking code provided by Convert.

After the new tracking code is installed, you can safely start making changes in the project under the destination account.

4. Transfer historical report data

Once you confirm that the new tracking code has been installed, Convert will transfer the historical report numbers.

After this step, reports will continue populating as your experiments keep running and collecting data.

5. Delete the old project

After the transfer and historical data migration are complete, Convert will delete the old project from the source account.

Important notes

Do not make project changes after the agreed change-freeze time. Any changes made during the transfer window may not be included in the migrated project.

The tracking code must be updated on your website after the transfer. The old tracking code should be replaced with the new one provided by Convert.

Historical report numbers are transferred after the new tracking code has been installed and confirmed.
