How to Enable SPA Mode in the Convert Visual Editor

🧩 Supporting Seamless Visual Editing for Single Page Applications (SPAs)

IN THIS ARTICLE YOU WILL:

🚀 What is SPA Mode?

SPA Mode modifies how the Visual Editor interacts with your site, helping it detect and interact with dynamic elements in Single Page Applications like React, Angular, or Vue.

❓ When Should You Use SPA Mode?

Enable SPA Mode if:

  • Your website is a Single Page Application (SPA).

  • You see the following error in the Visual Editor:

"We detected a click in the Visual Editor but couldn’t determine the element selector.

This might happen if the element doesn't exist on the page or if you're working with a single-page application. Enable SPA Mode"

🖱️ Clicking the link opens settings directly, allowing quick access to the SPA Mode toggle.

This usually means the DOM updated dynamically, and the editor couldn’t catch it—SPA Mode fixes that.

⚙️ How to Enable SPA Mode

  1. Click Settings in the top-right of the Visual Editor.
  2. ✅ Check Enable SPA Mode

🛑 Updated Error Message with Direct Link

If SPA Mode is disabled and the editor cannot find the clicked element, you will now see:

"We detected a click in the Visual Editor but couldn’t determine the element selector.

This might happen if the element doesn't exist on the page or if you're working with a single-page application. Enable SPA Mode"

🖱️ Clicking the link opens settings directly, allowing quick access to the SPA Mode toggle.

💡 FAQs

Q: Does this affect live experiments?
A: No. SPA Mode only impacts the Visual Editor experience—not your live experiments.

Q: Can I keep it disabled if I’m not using a SPA?
A: Yes! Leave the box unchecked for traditional multi-page websites.
