Whitelist IPs for Screenshot Previews

đŸ–ŧī¸đŸ” What IP addresses do I need to whitelist on my website so it can take screenshots of my experiment and variations previews to show on my reports?

THIS ARTICLE WILL HELP YOU:

📷 Overview

Convert Experiences, our A/B testing platform, takes screenshots of webpages where your experiments are deployed as well as previews of variations on those pages. These screenshots are displayed in your reports to help you visualize the changes between different variations. To ensure our screenshot service can access your website, especially if you have IP-based security measures in place, you'll need to whitelist specific IP addresses.

❗ Why This Is Important

If our screenshot service is blocked by your website's security measures, you won't be able to see visual representations of your variations in reports. This can make it harder to understand and communicate the differences between your experiment variations.

🌍 IP Addresses to Whitelist

To allow Convert Experiences to capture screenshots of your website and variation previews, please whitelist the following IP addresses on your web server or security solutions:

  • 52.87.44.246
  • 52.44.29.90

đŸ› ī¸ How to Implement

The exact method for whitelisting these IP addresses will depend on your specific infrastructure:

  • Web Application Firewall (WAF): Add these IPs to your allowed list in your WAF configuration

  • Server-level firewall: Configure your server firewall rules to allow these IPs

  • CMS security plugins: If you're using a CMS like WordPress with security plugins, add these IPs to the exception list

✅ Verification

After whitelisting these IP addresses, you can verify that screenshots are working properly by:

  • Creating or editing an experiment

  • Checking the experiment reports to confirm screenshots are being displayed
